Since high school, my life has been an enjoyable journey. I graduated
from Harvard College in Boston, worked in San Francisco as a bartender
for a year, was in the Army in Colorado for two years, worked as a stockbroker
at Merrill Lynch Tokyo for eight years, went back to graduate business
school at Stanford University in California for two years, moved to New
York for three years with First Boston in investment banking, spent ten
years with First Boston in Tokyo, moved to San Francisco for three years
with Korn/Ferry, an executive search firm, and have spent the last two
years "retired" from the work world. |
In 1975, I married my lifetime partner, Yoko Sato, who is from Okayama.
We now have three children, ages 22, 19, and 17. Later this year, I will
be returning to Tokyo to join the faculty of the new graduate school of
business at Hitotsubashi University. I will be teaching corporate finance,
a new step in the journey.
So, amigos of Tachikawa High School, we now are facing the new Millenium. We may be older in body, but not in mind or spirit. Let's raise a welcoming toast to 2000 and happily meet again soon. |
